Mayor proclaims Children's Mental Health Week; local partners highlight school-based services

Mayor William S. Stimpson on May 6 presented a proclamation recognizing May 4'10, 2025 as Children's Mental Health Week in the city of Mobile and invited partner organizations to accept the proclamation.
Judge Naman of the Strickland Youth Center and representatives from AltaPointe Health, the Department of Human Resources, the Child Advocacy Center and Mobile County Public Schools joined the mayor at the podium. Denise Reemer, lead social worker for Mobile County Public Schools, said the collaboration has operated for 13 years and thanked partners for providing mental-health services in schools.
A representative from AltaPointe Health and a speaker from The Bridge described joint efforts to reach youth and their families and praised the city for recognizing the work. Council members publicly commended the mental-health partners and said their responsiveness and day-to-day support have been important to the community.
The proclamation text emphasized early identification and intervention and declared the week an opportunity to highlight access to comprehensive mental-health services for children.
