Sawyer County emergency communications to go live with ESInet May 14; LEPC tours pipeline facility

Kupinski also briefed the committee on personnel training and local preparedness. He said two dispatchers will attend peer‑support training in Bayfield County and another will attend incident tactical dispatch training in Waukesha later in May. The county celebrated National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week with community donations and support for dispatch staff.
Emergency management hosted a Skywarn spotter training on April 22; Kupinski said about 10 people attended, up from eight the prior year, and that the county is considering rotating the training location next year to boost turnout. The county’s Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) held a meeting at the Enbridge facility in Stone Lake to learn about pipeline safety and review off‑site plans with reporting facilities and townships.
