The Miami Beach Planning Board on May 6 approved several procedural continuances and noted an applicant withdrawal.
The board continued two Lincoln Road items โ PB 24-0731 (LDR amendments) and PB 25-0737 (Lincoln Road West residential-use incentives) โ to the December 9 meeting at the request of the City Commission sponsors. The companion files for Lincoln Road East (PB 25-0738 and PB 25-0739) were also continued to December 9. The board also continued PB 25-0747 (vendor appointments to land-use boards) to the June 10 meeting while staff continues to draft ordinance language to address possible conflicts of interest when vendors or vendor employees are appointed to land-use boards.
The Angler's Hotel application (PB 22-0539; 660 Washington Avenue) was withdrawn by the applicant; no action was required. Separately, a previously continued item for 400 Collins Avenue (a parking-lot matter, PB 20-46) was removed from the agenda after the applicant satisfied landscaping and maintenance conditions the day before the meeting.
Why it matters: continuances allow staff and sponsors to refine ordinance language and give applicants time to meet conditions; the vendor-appointment ordinance in particular is intended to create a clearer conflict-of-interest standard for board appointments.
Details from the meeting: no public speakers were present on these continuance requests. The board voted unanimously on each continuance; the Angler's Hotel item was administratively withdrawn and removed from the agenda at the applicant's request.
