Carmel council votes to open full investigation after months of Christkindlmarkt controversy

The vote came after more than two hours of public comment from residents, former market leaders and vendors who described resignations, community backlash and concerns about governance and transparency. Former CCI CEO Maria Adela Rosenfeld read her resignation letter during public comment and said she had been excluded from board decisions and from the operating agreement negotiations. Multiple residents, including Sandy Richardson and Bob Carlson, urged a thorough review and expressed concern about the effects of recent events on the market’s cultural authenticity and vendor relationships.
