Linn County Health Director Pramod Divedi told the Linn County Board of Commissioners on April 21 that the county intends to reduce a public health nurse practitioner's weekly hours from 40 to 32 and requested approval to submit a vacancy form reflecting that change.
"We felt strongly that we could, reduce the nurse practitioner's hours from 40 to 32, and it has already been signed by the HR director as well as our finance director," Divedi said. He added he was available to answer questions from the board.
The board discussed the request briefly and agreed to place the vacancy form on the consent agenda for Wednesday's meeting. A board member noted that if the incumbent later left the post, the position would remain a 32-hour job unless the board later changed it.
The change was presented as an administrative staffing adjustment; commissioners did not vote on the vacancy form at this meeting and instead moved to include it on the consent agenda where formal approval may occur.
