The council approved Ordinance 19-81, a 10-year renewal (with two optional five-year renewals) granting Choctawhatchee Electric Cooperative, Inc., a nonexclusive franchise to use city rights-of-way to serve a small cluster of customers along Old Bethel Road. The ordinance includes a modest franchise-fee increase and language to address delays when utility poles are moved while other utilities remain on them. The motion to adopt carried 4-0, one absence.
