City to upgrade law enforcement center cameras and repair Holiday Building parking structure

The law enforcement center camera upgrade would install 74 new cameras described as compact 'bullet' cameras with higher resolution to improve security coverage of the facility. The parking-structure work responds to a recent strike of the height bar: staff said concrete repair, waterproofing and raising the bar height are proposed to prevent future strikes and damage.
Because both projects are under $250,000, they do not require a resolution; staff presented them for committee awareness and to solicit questions. A council member asked what a “bullet camera” is and staff replied that the term refers to the camera’s style and small form factor, while noting improved resolution compared with older equipment.
