The Citizens Government Review Committee approved minutes from its March 26 and April 9 meetings and agreed to invite the Topeka Citizens Advisory Council (CAC) to speak at the committee’s May meeting.
The committee, chaired by Chair Kall, convened with six members present and adopted the March 26 minutes after a motion and second; members then approved the April 9 minutes by voice vote. No individual vote tallies beyond unanimous “aye” responses were recorded in the transcript.
The committee’s chairman said he had contacted the CAC’s president, who wants to appear representing the CAC rather than offering only personal views. Because the CAC’s board must review the request, the earliest available meeting date will be May 21. Committee members agreed to extend the invitation and asked that the CAC be informed of the committee’s focus areas so the CAC can prepare relevant feedback.
Committee staff reported receiving one email from Monica Hill on April 10; the message was forwarded to members and will be attached to the meeting minutes.
Committee leadership also set a practical constraint: they will not add new substantive items to the agenda before the CAC appears, and asked members to continue working on draft reports and issue papers already under discussion.
The meeting closed after routine motions to adjourn.
