Dalton City Council on Monday approved a one‑year renewal of the city hall floor maintenance contract with Apex, the company formerly known as Spectra.
Halima from Human Resources presented the renewal and said the 2025–2026 renewal cost will be $5,499.16, an increase of $503.24 from 2024 — about a 10 percent rise. "Human Resources is seeking approval to sign a renewal contract agreement with the Apex, which is formerly known as Spectra...The 2025–2026 renewal costs will be $5,499.16. Services have increased by $503.24," Halima said. The council voted to approve the renewal.
Discussion vs. decision: Halima provided the staff recommendation and the council approved the renewal by motion; no amendments or alternate vendors were proposed at the meeting.
Why it matters: The contract renewal covers routine maintenance for city hall flooring and reflects a modest year‑over‑year increase that staff attributed to general service cost changes.
