Board shortens public-comment language and moves closed session to end of meetings

The King George County School Board approved updates to its meeting agenda form BDDC-F1 that shorten the public-comment script and move closed sessions from the middle of the agenda to the end.
Lloyd, a member of the school board office staff, told the board he revised the form at the board’s request and that the new public-comment wording was modeled on other localities. He also said staff discussed moving the closed session to the end to better accommodate attendees; staff noted the change had been vetted with school board office personnel.
Board members debated the original reasons for earlier timing and noted the move will keep some personnel in the room longer but said it better accommodates members of the public and student representatives. A motion to approve the revised BDDC-F1 passed by voice vote.
