Staff explained that initial Phase II cost estimates grew by about $11,000 because the contractor needed to sample soil gas throughout the building footprint and evaluate per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in groundwater. Miller said the initial award covered Phase I, Phase II, baseline environmental assessment and hazardous materials assessments; the amendment reflects higher-than-estimated Phase II costs.
Board members voted to approve the amended request without additional conditions.
