Board convenes in closed session for personnel, later approves hires and resignations

A board member moved that, “pursuant to State Code section 2.2-3712 A of the Code of Virginia, the board convene in closed meeting to review hires, substitutes and resignations as permitted under 2.2-3711 a, number 1 of the Code of Virginia.” The motion carried and the board went into closed session.
After returning to open session the board certified the closed meeting and a motion to approve “all of the personnel and positions presented” was made, seconded and approved by voice vote; the chair recorded an “aye.” The board did not disclose individual personnel details during open session.
The action followed the certification required by state law that only matters appropriately exempted were discussed in closed session.
