Commission confirms a slate of mayoral appointments during committee meeting

The Committee on Appointments confirmed seven mayoral appointments on the morning consent calendar and noted several upcoming vacancies.

The committee unanimously approved Mayor David LeGrand’s resolutions confirming William Newsome to the Westside Corridor Improvement Authority; John O’Connor to the Uptown Business Improvement District Board; Adam Wheeler to the Mobile GR Commission; Sonja Forte and Aden Van Doren to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board; Jason Miller to the Income Tax Board of Review; and Olivia Mulder to the Civil Service Board. Each nomination was moved, supported and adopted by voice vote; the record in the transcript shows a series of “Aye” responses and repeated “Motion carries” confirmations but no roll-call tallies were read aloud.
