At the May 2025 meeting, the Greenbelt Advisory Commission nominated and approved Commissioner Kate Laramie to serve as chair and Commissioner Roseanne Bloomer to serve as vice chair for the 2025–26 cycle.
Chair Riggs nominated the slate; Commissioner Laramie said, "I do accept. Thank you very much," when asked whether she would serve. Bloomer likewise accepted the vice-chair nomination, saying, "Yes. I accept. Thank you."
The commission conducted voice votes for each position following nominations and brief discussion in which several commissioners praised the nominees’ service. Chair Riggs said the change will take effect in July and thanked outgoing executive committee members for their service. City staff and commissioners noted that staff will continue to support the executive committee in the next year.
Why it matters: leadership changes determine who will preside over commission meetings and represent the body on executive matters for the coming year.
Next steps: the new executive roles take effect in July. Staff and commissioners said they will continue to provide support during the transition.
