Renton council adopts ordinance amending 2025–26 budget, increases revenues by $56.07 million and expenditures by $167.03 million

The Renton City Council on May 5 adopted an ordinance amending the city’s fiscal year 2025–26 biennial budget, increasing budgeted revenues by $56,072,799 and expenditures by $167,033,277.
The ordinance, presented on second and final reading, also amends the 2025 City of Renton salary table and updates the city fee schedule. The motion to adopt was moved by Council Member Perez and seconded by Council Member O'Halloran; the council approved the ordinance by roll call vote with all members voting in the affirmative.
City staff introduced the ordinance as an amendment to Ordinance No. 6147 and noted the salary table last amended by Ordinance No. 6156 was being updated as part of the package. The ordinance text submitted to the council described the changes as increasing ‘‘the budgeted revenues and expenditures by $56,072,799 and $167,033,277 respectively,’’ and providing for severability and an effective date.
On the roll call the following council members recorded aye: Council President Albertson; Council Member Vaughn; Council Member Perez; Council Member Prince; Council Member McGovern; Council Member O'Halloran; and Council Member Rivera. Mayor Armando Pavoni presided. The ordinance will take effect as provided in its text.
The amendment was considered on the council dais during the meeting’s legislation section and carried on the second reading; no amendments to the ordinance were recorded in the meeting minutes.
