The Department of General Services FY26 operating budget also received committee endorsement after a brief discussion about whether to convert a contract position into an FTE; department leadership and the committee agreed to continue the work under contractual services given current fiscal constraints. The Transportation and Environment Committee reported unanimous approval of the Fleet Management Services FY26 operating budget and the related FY25–30 CIP item for county vehicle electric‑vehicle charging stations; the committee made no additional changes.
The Economic Development Committee recommended the Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation (MCEDC) NDA budget as transmitted with an amendment staff noted: the committee declined an additional $450,000 enhancement requested by MCEDC and instead supported an amount closer to the organization’s recent actual spend. Council members recorded a unanimous assent to the committee recommendation.
