Round Lake administrators asked the board to approve a $44,875 purchase of the Practical Assessment Exploration System (PAES) from Life Productions to be used in the districtโs STEP program.
District staff said PAES provides hands-on tasks โ sorting, counting and building โ to evaluate student work completion, work rate and how students compare with community employment benchmarks. The system produces reporting that can inform transition and employment planning for students in special education. The expense was presented at finance and staff confirmed the purchase will be charged to the STEP contract account.
The board approved the purchase by roll-call vote and administrators said they will share assessment data and reporting with the board as requested.
