The Round Lake Area Schools Board approved four new coaching stipends beginning with the 2025–26 school year to expand athletic programming.
Administration requested stipends to add a head competitive dance coach, a junior-varsity competitive dance coach, a second-level JV girls flag football coach and a JV-2 cheerleading coach for the winter competitive season. Finance reviewed the request and reported an offset: removal of a fourth assistant softball coach stipend. Administrators said the competitive dance proposal builds on current dance fitness classes and the district wants to move programming into a varsity competitive offering.
In discussion, administrators noted trial rosters and tryout numbers for sideline/cheer and confirmed the current sideline roster is 48. The motion passed by roll call with all present board members voting yes.
