Round Lake Area Schools board reorganizes, swears in three members

The Round Lake Area Schools Board of Education met May 5 at Round Lake High School for a special organizational meeting to administer oaths of office and elect board officers.
Board President Michael Francisco and two other newly elected members — Margaret “Peg” Larson and Julie Lee — were called forward to receive oath of office administered during the organizational portion of the meeting. The board then took nominations and elected Michael Francisco as board president, Margaret “Peg” Larson as vice president and Annette DeBary McKinley as board secretary.
The swearing-in recited a standard oath that referenced fidelity to the U.S. and Illinois constitutions and laws and pledged to protect district assets and respect student and employee privacy. Board members then approved the 2025–26 meeting calendar and adjourned the special organizational meeting before opening the regular May board meeting.
The organizational votes were taken by roll call with all present members voting in favor of the officer slate.
