The Tahlequah City Council met in executive session and approved an administrative contract with the city administrator on May 5.
The council convened private executive-session discussions authorized under the Oklahoma Open Meetings Act to discuss: negotiations with the Fraternal Order of Police and IAFF (firefighters); the deployment and contract of the city administrator; a pending case identified as CJ-24-64; and the purchase or appraisal of a property. After returning to open session, the council moved to approve an administrative contract with the city administrator and the motion carried by recorded vote.
City officials stated that the negotiations with labor representatives and the pending litigation and property appraisal were discussed in executive session but that “no action is required” on those items at this time. The recorded votes on the administrative contract included Councilor Allen, Councilor Perry, Councilor Myers and Councilor Baker voting yes; the motion carried per the meeting minutes.
Councilors directed staff to finalize the administrative contract consistent with the motion and to provide any required public records or filings after the contract is executed.
