Appropriations and contracts called: The committee voted to call for an ordinance appropriating $3,000 from the senior center trust fund to the parks operating budget for active-adult center activities. The committee also called for legislation allowing the mayor to enter a contract with NFP Corporation Services Inc. for consulting and brokerage services related to employee benefits. Committee members then called for an appropriation of $500,000 from the unappropriated item of the city grant fund to the planning department’s operation and maintenance budget; staff said the planning department received an EPA grant for Brownfield remediation and expects to be reimbursed for expenditures. Finally, the committee called for creation of a new capital improvement fund called the City Hall/Justice Center Project Fund; emergency wording and one reading were requested for these items.
