Council voted to initiate a zoning text amendment that staff described as largely technical corrections and clarifications to the zoning code. Staff highlighted two substantive changes: an adjustment to the allowed time period for large recreational equipment in driveways and the removal of one use from the town27s P-1 corridor restrictions, which govern appearance and uses on key commercial corridors. Planning staff said most proposed edits restore language omitted during prior comprehensive changes and that any ordinance would go through the Planning Commission public-hearing process before returning to council for a final vote.
Separately, the council approved an ordinance conditionally vacating easements on Lot 367 and Lot 368 of the Vineyard Subdivision (addresses given in the staff report) and a related resolution conditionally approving the resubdivision of those lots. The votes were taken by roll call and passed.
Council members noted that initiating the zoning text amendment is a request to start the public process, not a final approval; the Planning Commission will hold hearings and issue recommendations before any ordinance is adopted.
