The Normal Town Council voted on a package of routine items Monday that included a contract award, an insurance renewal and payment of town bills.
Council approved a resolution to accept a bid and award a contract to George Gildner Incorporated for the 2025 sump pump discharge and storm sewer improvements project in the amount of $296,364. The council also authorized renewal of the town27s participation in the Municipal Insurance Cooperative Agency liability-insurance program for plan year 2025–26.
In a separate consent action to receive and file expenditures as of April 30, 2025, council members discussed line items on the bills. A staff member said the "Town of Normal donation installment balance" for $250,000 is the town's remaining payment toward its capital pledge to the Children27s Discovery Museum; staff said the total pledge is $1,000,000 and that the town paid $250,000 in a prior year. Council members also noted vehicle replacement charges that included payment on two ambulances the town ordered previously, a line totaling $584,000 for those units.
All items under the omnibus agenda were approved by roll call.
