Board staff report operational updates: jail survey, delayed agenda software rollout and strategic planning

Erin (Board staff) briefed the Johnson County Board of Supervisors on several operational issues affecting the board office.
Staff said the final draft of a jail survey from CSSI had arrived and been forwarded to a subcommittee with a requested quick turnaround; the consultant plans to present a final draft to the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council next week. The county’s planned rollout of new agenda software (PEAK) was delayed after vendor staff working on the project were laid off; until further notice the existing Granicus product will continue to be used and staff will advise affected teams.
Erin said staff plan to present a draft RFP and strategic-planning approach to the board in a May work session. She also advised supervisors that closed sessions in the new meeting space may require relocation if acoustics risk being overheard, and staff will consult the county attorney about appropriate locations. The update included a schedule of upcoming meetings and a Terri Whitson training on May 12.
Supervisors acknowledged the updates; no formal board action was taken during the work session.
