Pingree Grove swears in four trustees; outgoing counsel thanked

President Amber Kubiak and the village board swore in four trustees at the May 20, 2025, meeting, formally filling village trustee seats with four appointees whose terms run through 2029 and 2027.
The swearing-in preserves a full board and lets trustees take part immediately in village business. The new trustees are Kevin Pini, Robert Wengles, Andrew McCurdy and Edward Tarnow; three were sworn to four-year terms expiring in 2029 and one was sworn to a two-year term expiring in 2027.
The mayor opened the meeting by thanking outgoing legal counsel Brooke Carey for two years of service and legal support. Carey, addressing the board, said, “I’ve lived here for 46 years… it was my pleasure and honor to serve with the board,” and added she would remain involved with the community.
Each appointee repeated the oath of office affirming support for the Constitution and the laws of Illinois and the village ordinances of Pingree Grove. After roll call the board confirmed a quorum and proceeded with the evening’s agenda.
The swearing-in was completed before the board moved on to consent items and other business, allowing the newly sworn trustees to participate in subsequent votes recorded on the meeting minutes.
