Chip Rose, director of human resources, recommended buying tickets in tranches for a midweek game (he suggested June 11) to allow employees up to three family members to attend. Rose said group sales pricing drops to $8 a ticket if 250 tickets are purchased and the Boxcars would provide a dedicated portal so employees could select seats in advance.
Commissioners moved and seconded the recommendation and set the $10,000 cap on spending; the motion passed 4-0. Staff will manage planning and logistics and attempt to minimize waste by phasing purchases and choosing a midweek date to maximize seat availability.
