County approves transfer of 804 East Willard to local nonprofit for use as parking for support services

Delaware County commissioners on Monday approved a conveyance of county-owned property at 804 East Willard Street to a local nonprofit that operates support services for women.
An organization representative, Angelina Stans (speaking for Auburn and Kelly), said the group — “Women support girls. Women support each other” — has already acquired adjacent property at 806 East Wheeler for a headquarters and proposed using 804 East Willard as parking for groups of 20 to 25 attendees. County staff confirmed receipt of the nonprofit’s articles of incorporation and tax-exempt documentation and said the group met the statutory criteria for a conveyance.
Commissioners moved to transfer the property to the nonprofit for a nominal consideration (one dollar). The motion passed by roll call. Staff said the transfer would be formalized by resolution at the next meeting and the organization would bear any minimal recording costs associated with the deed transfer.
