A trail user described the current disruption before the project: "That happens probably a good 3 to 4 times a month where we have a multi day closure on this trail," the trail user said. City staff said elevating the trail should reduce closures and maintenance needs; they estimated that after completion closures would occur only "maybe only 1 to 2 times a year" for maintenance.
Work is being done in phases. "Once they finish the south side of the creek, they'll start working on the north side," the staff member said. The city expects to finish the project by November, according to the staff member.
