Mayor Jerry Bridal said the Dark Sky Discovery Center exterior construction is expected to be finished this fall and that a small open-house event is possible once work is complete.
"They're moving along. They're looking to have the outside construction done this fall and maybe a light open house type of thing coming up this fall," Bridal said about the Dark Sky Discovery Center project.
Bridal also reported progress on roadwork, saying one paving project near completion is on Trevino Boulevard and that work on Nicholas is underway in town.
He said the Town Council recently approved a number of capital improvement projects and directed staff to forward those projects into the upcoming budget, but he did not provide vote counts or dollar amounts during the announcement.
The mayor framed the updates as part of ongoing capital work that will continue as the town prepares its budget.
