Danica said library staff visited Mountain View School and Calabasas pre‑K classes for story times during the Love of Reading week and hosted additional programming including a Lorax movie showing with refreshments. “We had 2 staff members visit the Mountain View School and read to the kids... a total of 4 classes,” she told trustees.
Danica said the Mexican Consulate planned an event for March 20 to distribute books, most of which will be in Spanish and will circulate in the system. She also described National Library Week activities and proclamations scheduled at the Santa Cruz County meeting and a city council proclamation in early April, and invited trustees to attend.
Separately, Danica said she had been nominated to represent the region on the Amigos library services board and that the nomination would be considered May 14; she said the term is three years and is renewable once. Danica said the role carries no cost to the city or county and that Amigos provides cataloging and interlibrary loan services used by the libraries.
