Nogales libraries to offer free museum and zoo passes through Act 1 CulturePASS program

Library staff told the Nogales Library Board of Trustees that the county will participate in Act 1’s CulturePASS program, allowing library patrons free entry to participating museums and cultural sites.
Library Supervisor Martinez told the board, “we provide free entries, free passes to about 19 sites.” She said each pass allows two entries and is valid for one week after checkout. “Each ticket, counts for 2 entries, and it's valid for a week,” Martinez said.
Martinez said participating sites include museums and botanical gardens in Phoenix and Tucson and other Arizona locations; she listed examples such as the University of Arizona Museum of Arts, the Tucson Desert Art Museum, the Tucson Museum of Arts, the Desert Botanical Garden and the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art.
Martinez said passes will be available at each library branch and displayed at the front desk; patrons must have a library card to check out a pass. She also said the library will post links online and email the board with additional information.
Board members asked about limits and logistics; Martinez said the rule is one pass per week per library branch, meaning a patron who checks out the Nogales pass would need to wait a week to check out another pass at Rio Rico. The board asked staff to circulate the full list of participating sites once displays are in place.
