Jennifer Gallaher raised safety concerns during the Sept. 24 public‑comment period, telling the council that large trucks, horse trailers and other traffic use Perkinsville Road at high speeds, creating dangerous conditions for pedestrians and causing repeated rumble and cracking that has damaged her home.
Gallaher said speed limit signs have not reduced speeding, that there are no sidewalks and that delivery drivers have narrowly escaped collisions when stopping for mail. She said she paid about $1,300 out of pocket to repair cracks in ceilings and walls she attributes to vibration from heavy vehicles, and expressed worry that planned development — including a proposed RV park near Old Home Manor discussed elsewhere on the agenda — could worsen the problem.
Council told Gallaher staff would pass speeding concerns to the police chief for follow‑up; no formal agenda action was taken at the meeting.
