Kaye Williams, chair of the Sun City West Properties Committee, reminded residents that anyone who wishes to serve on a standing committee for the coming fiscal year must complete the online application on the governing board page by May 15.
Williams explained the process: applications go to staff member Karen, who compiles them on a spreadsheet for committee directors; directors then review applicants, conduct interviews by phone or in person and select committee members. Williams said directors are encouraged to retain at least three returning members on each committee while selecting new applicants to fill remaining seats. "It is your responsibility to check them out, interview them," she said.
A committee member asked about service limits; Williams confirmed there is a three-year limit on service on the same committee, but committee members may move to a different committee after serving three years.
Williams told members the appointment selections should be completed by early July so committees can begin work when meetings resume in September. The committee did not take formal action on appointments at this meeting; the remarks were informational and procedural.
