Supervisors approve EMS director contract changes, hire interim medical examiner investigator and acknowledge police equipment purchase

The Chickasaw County Board of Supervisors approved changes to the employment contract for EMS Director Joel Knudson on April 28, voted to hire an interim medical examiner investigator (MEI) and acknowledged a substantial law-enforcement equipment invoice.
On the EMS contract, the board agreed to revise contract dates and to change the language on annual performance evaluations so the director’s review is conducted annually (the board amended sections 1, 5 and 11 as discussed). The board voted 4–0 to approve the contract with the specified date cleanups and the change to an annual review schedule; the contract term will run July 1 through June 30 with salary-setting timing adjusted to align with budget work.
The board also voted to hire Conrad Rosenbaum (recorded in the minutes as Conrad Rosenbaum/Rosenbaum spelling variants appear) as a county medical examiner investigator on an interim basis to cover anticipated short-term gap in coverage. The board discussed licensing and continuing-education requirements and directed that the interim hire be revisited after the short term; the board approved the interim hire for a defined period (the motion recorded a six-month interim; the board discussed making the interim effective through October). The hiring motion passed by voice vote.
Separately, county law-enforcement staff presented an invoice from Keith Police Supply totaling $21,276.39 for rifles, body armor and related equipment; a portion ($8,494 per the packet) will be paid from the forfeiture fund and the remainder from regular budget lines. The board acknowledged the invoice and confirmed the correct fund coding before approving acknowledgment.
EMS staff also reported storm-preparedness checks of generators and available crews should severe weather hit later the same day; the board heard that three trucks could be made available and crews stood ready.
