The Talking Rock Town Council voted to approve a contract with GMA Incorporated to set up and collect past-due and future telecommunications right-of-way fees for the town, at a cost of $1,050 for the first year.

Amanda (staff member) told the council the fee covers setup and an initial year of service: "It's a thousand and $50. I already read that. It makes it a thousand $50 for the year." Amanda said GMA would help establish contracts and collect up to three years of back payments where owed.

Council members asked whether neighboring towns had used the company; Amanda said Nelson and Jasper used the firm during a first-year setup period. The council made a motion to accept the contract, heard a second, and approved the contract by voice vote. Jason (councilmember) confirmed his support during the vote.

The contract requires signature to proceed; Amanda indicated she would send final documents for signature. The council did not provide a formal roll-call tally in the meeting minutes."
