The Kosciusko County Board of Commissioners voted to vacate the final 50‑foot alley right‑of‑way within a Wooster plat, a change staff said will resolve a zoning violation where a garage encroaches on the platted alley.

Planning staff and a petitioner representative described the request as a cleanup of an older platted area where the last segment of an alley no longer serves a purpose. Steve Snyder (representing the petitioner) outlined the area on a submitted drawing and said “the remainder, every other part of that alley has been vacated. So this is the last spot.” A commissioner moved to accept the recommendation and another commissioner seconded; the board approved the vacation by voice vote.

County staff said the vacation will finish the platting cleanup for that block in Wooster and will be processed administratively following the board’s approval.
