The School Committee approved a request to name a play structure at the Glover School in memory of a former kindergarten teacher, authorizing the administration and the school community to proceed with planning and fundraising.

Committee members said the full playground is already named and the request concerns a specific play structure within the Glover main playground. Administration and PTO representatives told the committee they are still finalizing the structure selection, cost estimates and donor plans; the committee’s vote granted initial approval to proceed with naming a piece of playground equipment in the teacher’s memory and asked the school to return with final design, cost and donation details for formal acceptance of funds or construction.

Committee members said they expected the naming to be accompanied by community outreach and a short dedication, and requested that the school return to the committee with the finalized plan and wording for any plaque.

The committee’s vote authorizes the naming in principle; final acceptance of donations or purchases will return to the committee for standard approval of any gifts to the district.
