City Administrator Mike Ristelho said College Place will host its annual block party on Sunday, May 18, and move the weekly farmers market back to Lions Park beginning May 29.
Ristelho said the block party will be held “on Sunday, May 18 from 1 to 6PM,” with activities and vendors along College Avenue from Whitman Drive to Fourth Street near the Walla Walla University campus. He said the farmers market will run at Lions Park every Thursday from May 29 through September, from 4 to 7 p.m., and that recent park renovations included additional electrical infrastructure to support vendors.
The city clerk’s office is managing vendor sign-ups. Ristelho named Mary Elizabeth Garcia and the deputy clerk as contacts for registration and said residents should contact the clerk’s office to apply to vend at the market, block party or other community events.
The announcement follows project updates for Lions Park construction and other city work; Ristelho described May as “a busy month” for community events and calendar items.
