Mayor Mark Allen announced the presentation of Certified Municipal Official (CMO) designations to two members of the Cibolo City Council on April 22. "Only 30 elected officials in the state of Texas are certified CMOs, and we have 2 of them on the Cibolo City Council," Allen said.

Allen said certificates were presented to Councilman Hicks and Councilwoman Sanchez Stevens. The mayor described the designation as a formal certification for elected municipal officials in Texas; the mayor’s summary did not include details about the training or issuing body beyond the CMO designation name.
