City Council pulls misnoticed hearing, reschedules applicant’s public hearing for June

Tampa City Council removed a public‑hearing item after city lawyers said the filing had been misnoticed and could not be heard today.
The council voted to remove agenda item 61 after Martin Shelby, the council attorney, told members the item was a “misnotice” and “cannot be heard.” Council members then voted to reschedule the applicant’s requested public hearing for 1:30 p.m. on June 6, 2025, at 315 East Kennedy Boulevard, third floor.
The city attorney told council members there was no need to wait until the advertised 1:30 p.m. hearing time; staff could remove the item now and, if desired, set a new date so the applicant could be notified. Councilmember Alan Clendenin made the motion to remove item 61 and Councilmember Miranda seconded; the motion carried. Council then approved the June 6, 2025 hearing date at the applicant’s request.
