Eastern York School District board approves turf and track replacement contract

The Eastern York School District voted to approve a contract to replace the high school stadium turf and resurface the track, a project the district said it wants completed before fall sports, the board discussed at a meeting that began at 5 p.m.

The project will replace the existing turf, convert the current grass one‑yard area (the "D" area) to turf, repave the track surface and perform related walkway and conduit work. The district presented a FieldTurf proposal as the lowest bid; district staff and the district's consultant said the proposal is a lump‑sum contract and includes allowances for potential rock or unsuitable‑soil removal.
