The North Hills School District Board of Education on May 1 approved the district’s 2025–26 athletic handbooks and continued recognition of several club sports, including girls’ slow-pitch softball, inline roller hockey, a bullying prevention team, ice hockey and FBLA club activities. The board also approved district reimbursements for the 2024–25 school year for the recognized club sports and approved the FBLA club’s travel to the FBLA National Conference in Anaheim, California, June 28–July 3, 2025.
Under the motion, the board approved the student-athlete/parent handbook, coaches handbook and boosters organization handbook for the 2025–26 school year. The administration explained policy "8 13" provides the formula for district allocations to programs: a percentage of transportation, supplies and equipment, coaching stipends, facility rental, league and officiating fees, plus a per-participant allotment (described in the meeting as "$25 or $10 per student participant"). That policy number was cited by the superintendent and staff during the discussion of how allocations are determined.
Board members asked whether the continued-recognition packets historically included records and required documentation; staff said the materials are what the programs must submit for continued recognition. The board approved adding items 2 through 7 under athletics and activities to the legislative meeting agenda and carried the motion by voice vote.
The meeting materials included specific reimbursement amounts for the 2024–25 year: girls’ slow-pitch softball reimbursement of $464.40; inline roller hockey reimbursement of $1,135.31; the bullying team reimbursement of $222.00; and the ice hockey club reimbursement of $15,406.29. The FBLA club’s travel authorization and district recognition for the 2025–26 year were also approved.
