The North Hills School District Board of Education voted May 1 to award its educational technology management services agreement to Questech following a competitive request for proposals.
The district advertised the request in February and received initial interest from five companies; two firms — GDC IT Solutions and Questech — submitted full proposals. District materials showed evaluation criteria included vendor capabilities, staff qualifications, approach to services and cost. The administration recommended Questech based on “historical demonstrated capacity to provide services” and the company’s proposed staffing plan.
"Ultimately, the decision to choose Questech was based upon historical demonstrated capacity to provide services using an approach consistent with the district's expectations through deployment of experience and highly qualified technology professionals," a staff presentation said.
Board member Little noted for the record that Questech’s proposal included six positions while the other bidder proposed five, and the board approved the contract award by voice vote. The motion to add the finance items that included the award to the legislative agenda and subsequent approval carried during the May 1 meeting.
The district will execute a services agreement with Questech; the board did not discuss contract dollar amounts or detailed staffing assignments during the public meeting.
