The Benicia Unified School District Board approved a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the Venetia Teachers Association and the district regarding the advisory period at Venetia Middle School.

Dr. Jennings presented the MOU, which staff said clarifies expectations and responsibilities during the advisory period, a scheduled time intended to provide extra support for students and give counselors and other support staff time to work with them. The board approved the item by motion and voice vote; no amendments or roll‑call vote details were read into the record during the public discussion.

The MOU is intended to formalize how the advisory period will operate, align staff and bargaining‑unit expectations, and support tiered interventions for students; the transcript records staff recommended approval.
