Commission extends fleet repair contracts one year; vendor price adjustments noted

Purchasing Manager Kim Hopkins told the commission that two countywide repair-and-maintenance contracts awarded under ITB 2023-14 would be renewed for an additional year.
Hopkins said Steve’s Automotive requested a 10% increase allowed under the original bid; another vendor reserved the right to raise prices if tariffs or manufacturer costs change. Hopkins said vendors had not yet provided manufacturer letters but that the county would request documentation if vendors later seek price adjustments. She asked the commission to approve a one-year contract extension for both vendors so county departments can continue using the countywide contracts.
Commissioners approved the one-year extension on a voice vote. Hopkins said she will return to the commission if vendors present documented requests for price increases.
