County clerk reports 67,806 registered voters; one precinct moved after scheduling conflict

County Clerk Miss Brumfield told the Christian County Commission that the office’s annual precinct report, due each year by May 10, shows 67,806 registered voters and that precinct polling places meet statutory parking and accessibility requirements.
The clerk said precinct sizes are kept roughly equal, noting James River precinct has “over 6,000” registered voters and that West Finley/East Finley each approach about 1,000. She said the county moved the North Galloway precinct from Family River Cowboy Church back to Highlandville Elementary after the church’s Tuesday-evening services conflicted with elections.
The clerk said the county will continue to monitor precinct locations and thanked commissioners for their attention. Eastern Commissioner Bridal Jackson and other commissioners asked a few clarifying questions during the presentation.
The commission set the report for the record; no further formal action on the report was recorded at the meeting.
