Local organizer invites community to Car Free First Friday on Aspen Street to test walkable space

The organizer said Creative Flagstaff and the Downtown Business Alliance historically hold permits for the First Friday Art Walk and will be key partners; Dre described the effort as a way to learn how closures help or hinder people with limited mobility. “We’ll have surveys for people to take…Does the street closure help them or does it hurt them, and how can we make it better for everyone?” Dre said.
Commissioners thanked Dre for the invitation and asked staff to circulate the event flyer; one commissioner offered a resource on mobility without driving to share offline. No city action was taken during the meeting; staff and commissioners noted they will promote the event and circulate materials.
