Riverside board approves Road to 2050 Climate Action and Resilience Plan on consent agenda

President J. Douglas Pollock described the plan’s development timeline at the meeting: Assistant Village Manager Ashley Monroe drafted a request for proposals last year, the village hired Nutting Consulting in summer 2024, and staff worked with the consultant to produce the plan now before the board. Pollock said an open house to share the plan with residents will be held May 22 from 4 to 7 p.m. on the train station platform; additional details will be provided at the May 15 board meeting.
Clerk Stenzel read the consent agenda items, which included approving the voucher list, several meeting minutes and the C4 climate plan adoption. The board approved the consent agenda by roll call; trustees voting “aye” in the record included Trustee Kos, Trustee Marsh Atschke, Trustee Clarity, Trustee Gallagher and Trustee Evans. The consent agenda vote closed the matter at this meeting; no separate substantive debate or amendment of the climate plan occurred during the session.
Discussion vs. decision: the record shows the C4 plan was adopted as part of the consent agenda; that constitutes formal approval by the board. Staff noted an upcoming public open house for outreach; no new funding amounts or implementation schedules were adopted at the May 1 meeting.
