Cincinnati-area resident tells Hamilton County commissioners that roads and housing conditions need attention

During the public comment period on May 1, 2025, Kamisha Webster spoke to the Board of County Commissioners about road conditions and housing code enforcement in Cincinnati-area neighborhoods. Webster said she travels into the city and finds roads in poor condition, citing specific routes such as Martin Luther King Boulevard and Mount Airy (as stated in her remarks). She told the board she had discussed the issues previously with city staff and said some neighborhoods appear to lack functioning community council boards that would normally surface local priorities.

Webster also raised concerns about housing conditions and landlords, saying she and others have reported poor building conditions and that complaints sometimes produce inspections without follow-through to resolve problems. She asked the board to clarify priorities between city investments and basic infrastructure and housing enforcement.

A commissioner pointed to an upcoming public hearing on the county’s HUD annual action plan as related to some of the issues Webster raised and invited her to remain for that portion of the meeting. Webster’s two-minute public comment concluded after she was reminded of the time limit.
