The Workforce Council of Southwest Ohio was identified in the proclamation as the local recipient and administrator of federal workforce dollars under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). Presenters said the workforce council has a memorandum of understanding with Hamilton County Jobs and Family Services to deliver jobs services and wraparound supports locally.
Beth Yoke, executive director of the Workforce Council of Southwest Ohio, and other staff joined commissioners at the podium to receive the proclamation. Commissioners praised youth employment work, crediting programs that provided summer jobs and reduced barriers such as free birth certificates and physicals to help youth obtain jobs.
